Mission Statement: We provide food, shelter, and counseling for women and children survivors of Domestic Violence and/or Homelessness for the purpose of ending the cycle of abuse.

Doctor of Optometry, Sevigny Eye Care, Former Hardee Count Commissioner for 12 years, Lion's Club Member Hardee County Housing Authority, Hardee County Homeless Coalition, Central Florida Optometric Society, and American Optometric Society member


Karen Tibbs - Executive Director-2019 to present, Trustee from 2010 to 2019
Prior owner of Forms Design a printing company in Sarasota Fl. Presently, Karen is an independant sales contractor of printing, Visa Debit Paycards, payroll services, and employee leasing.
Karen is very active in drama, youth, and teaching at Sarasota Christian Church.
Darrell Jensen CPA, CFO, Chairman of the Board & Vice President of AOFM Inc.
Darrell joined our Board in 2022. Darrell holds an A.A. Degree from SFSC, and a B.S. from Webber University in Accounting, an MBA from Florida Southern in Accounting and a Doctorate from Southeastern University.
Darrell is currently on the MidFlorida Credit Union Board of Directors and is the
CFO of Heacock Insurance Group.

Christine Price (Chris)- Board Secretary, Grant Writer - 2009 to present. BA in Management of Human Resources, Supervisory Management Certification from State Of Florida, Multi-Program Housing Certification, Counselor for Addictive Patters, Codependency, Addictions and Mental Illness recovery, Domestic Violence Training, 10 years Service Award Children & Families, Secretary of Florida Merit Award for Quality Assurance, and Ordained Minister. Chris also has been a children's teacher and counselor as well as teen counselor for over 25 years.

Anita Rogers - Assistant Director from 2021 to present (Had been with us 2 years prior as Shelter manager. 2021 - 22. Anita became the Funds Development and Marketing Director. Anita holds a B.S. Southeastern University Pastoral Concentration Cum Laude Status, and a M.A. in World Cultures at Columbia International University. Honorary Recipient 27th Edition National Dean's List. Adult Ed. Instructor Hillsborough County School District. Anita was
recently approved as a Hardee County EFSP Board member.

Esther Alvarado - Director-1996 to present
Esther is currently a case Manager at AOFM, Inc, Certified Duluth Model Counselor; BA in Theology, Ordained Minister, Spanish Interpreter, Anger Management Counselor, Parenting Class Teacher, Women's Club member, Department of Children & Families affiliate, and is a member at Faith Temple Church of God.

Christine is our newest Board member. Christine is a business owner and artist and is a very active supporter of charitable organizations.
